The immediate reaction of German POWs upon watching uncensored footage of the concentration camps shot by the US Signal Corps.

People often forget that most of the German troops had no idea about what was going on, they weren’t all fanatic Nazis bent on genocide, they were just regular soldiers who answered the call when their country went to war.

THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG

wow

im speechless

NO NO NO NO
FUCK THIS SHIT
THE GERMAN CITIZENS KNEW
THEY KNEW
The ghettos happened in cities, the apartheid laws happened under their noses, Jews were rounded up under their noses THEY FUCKING KNEW
Death camps and concentration camps were built WITHIN CITY LIMITS. Auschwitz, for example, is well within the city, and people take fucking strolls under its walls. I was fucking THERE, don’t even. The Polish knew, the Germans knew, it was LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE not to know. It’s even in the historical record, it’s even in fucking civilian diaries, THEY KNEW.
I AM SO FUCKING SICK OF THIS REVISIONIST BULLSHIT.

^This.
Sorry not sorry, German apologists, but what you’re seeing in this photo isn’t shock, it’s guilt. Richly deserved, completely merited GUILT. So take your, “Aw, those innocent little German soldiers, poor babies,” revisionist shit and shove it back up your collective ass.

We studied this exact issue in one of my history classes. They definitely knew. Ordinary Germans knew but that’s what propaganda and a desperate attempt to hold onto nationalism does to you. You actually delude yourself into thinking you’re not seeing what’s happening right in front of you. You delude yourself into thinking your hands aren’t just as bloody.
Also notice how only a minor few actually look shaken. The rest are pretty coldly looking on. We don’t know if this is remorse or fear of retribution or any number of things. I don’t think there’s really a need to tell anyone to shove anything up any of his/her orifices, but these aren’t ordinary German citizens, either. They’re soldiers, and they knew.
Anyone have a source for this picture?

Meet Mr. Camouflage, one of the special stars of sea life in the Lembeh Strait. I literally said “Whaaaaaaaat the f…” when I saw that amazing color change.
Isn’t evolution grand?

If a mathematician wants to cross a road, they will think carefully about their optimal path. The total distance of the path should be minimised, but they prefer walking on the sidewalk to the road. If there is no extra discomfort from being on the road, the best path is a straight line, but as it increases it is better to cross the road more directly.  The resulting path is exactly the same as a ray of light refracting through a block of glass [with relative refractive index equal to the ratio of these ‘discomfort levels’]. Fermat’s principle says that light will want to spend less time in the glass (on the road), as it actually travels more slowly in the glass. [video] [code] [more]

hahahhaha optimization problems… never again! …till calc BC lulz math goes on

"[F]or the first several years the SAT was offered, males scored higher than females on the Math section but females achieved higher scores on the Verbal section. ETS policy-makers determined that the Verbal test needed to be “balanced” more in favor of males, and added questions pertaining to politics, business and sports to the Verbal portion. Since that time, males have outscored females on both the Math and Verbal sections. Dwyer notes that no similar effort has been made to “balance” the Math section, and concludes that, “It could be done, but it has not been, and I believe that probably an unconscious form of sexism underlies this pattern. When females show the superior performance, ‘balancing’ is required; when males show the superior performance, no adjustments are necessary.” "

And then people urge me everything is fine, of course it is, when you’re ignoring statistics that is.

when a female hits puberty, her breasts fill up with milk for her future child and stays there until she dies. thats why, when you die, your body smells because the milk starts to spoil. i took AP biology trust me on this one.

Well I drank a lot of milk as a baby and I’m an only child. My moms boobs would have had to be a lot bigger.

i took AP bio as well and this shit ain’t even true

This is a simulation of a rotating 4 dimensional Cube, otherwise known as a Tesseract.
What you are seeing is it Rotating. It is not being distorted, reshaped, or anything like that. it is simply Rotating - It appears to be distorted because you are only seeing the ‘projection’ of it. similarly if you rotated a 3D cube infront of lamp the shadow you would see would appear to distort.

REBLOGGING NOT ONLY BECAUSE IT’S COOL BUT ALSO BECUASE IT’S A FREAKING
TESSERACT!!!

Amy Stein - Domesticated (2008)

Artist’s statement:

“Within these scenes I explore our paradoxical relationship with the wild and how our conflicting impulses continue to evolve and alter the behavior of both humans and animals. We at once seek connection with the mystery and freedom of the natural world, yet we continually strive to tame the wild around us and compulsively control the wild within our own nature. Within my work I examine the primal issues of comfort and fear, dependence and determination, submission and dominance that play out in the physical and psychological encounters between man and the natural world. Increasingly, these encounters take place within the artificial ecotones we have constructed that act as both passage and barrier between domestic space and the wild.”
